Opened in 2003, The Great Train Robbery started out as an emporium with over 150 vendors, but as time passed we realized we needed to take control of our products, thus we have only kept the best of the best with a few vendors who compliment our goal. Today, The Great Train Robbery is a uniquely eclectic emporium of contemporary, timeless, and farmhouse furnishings along with home decor, gifts, artwork, hand-made jewelry, apparel & accessories, and much more!

Our showroom floor, which was originally the historic Banner Elk Glove Factory, offers customers a wide range of fine gifts along with a mix of furniture and home decor pieces. Our style is timeless, authentic, inspired, unexpected, and fresh.

We offer a complimentary design services to help with renovation and new construction projects. Our sales staff also has complete knowledge of our products, many of which with a trained interior design background, and the expertise to make your purchases from us with complete confidence.

In 2018, The Great Train Robbery launched The Storage Depot: a fully indoor, climate-controlled, warehouse style self storage facility to fill a great demand in the area. Units are offered on month-to-month contracts starting as low as $25 per month. Since then, two additional facilities have opened across the Carolina's with new locations slated to open in the coming months.
